I am taking a digital photography class at the local college. Our first assignment was to figure out the manual controls on our cameras. Then we had to take a photo of a subject and simplify and blur the background. Next we had to compose a photo by using framing to emphasize our subject.
When I finally figured out how to control my camera, I had to look for a location. We have a special spot in our neighborhood called Sanctuary Cove. It has wilderness trails through the mountains and a little rustic chapel and amphitheater. I asked Andrea to be my model and go on a photo shoot with me. She did her hair and got dressed up. We went out and had a blast. I found some great spots for my assignments and took some great pictures. We were so excited to come back and boot them up on the computer. To my dismay, the photos were completely out of focus and terrible. I spent hours trying to figure out what was wrong with the dang camera. It finally dawned on me that I had gotten so caught up in setting the controls on the camera that I had forgotten to focus the camera on my patient, smiling subject. Oh, brother, this digital camera stuff is tuff. Poor Andrea. The next evening, I coerced Michelle to be my model and ran through the drill again, this time remembering to focus (duh). These photos turned out great so...
(drum roll please)...here are the best two. It may be a while before you see any new photos of Andrea!
